Rooting Galaxy Y Duos

Its almost same like rooting Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.
Just the file update might be different.

Keep your battery upto 80%charged.
Do it at your own risk.

1) Download the update.zip from here.
2) Transfer it to your device via USB.
*Remember you have to Connect Storage to PC for enabling the option of transferring files. Just right click the file 'update.zip' and select 'Send To...' and 'Removable Disk __'. Don't put it in any of the folders in your sd card.
3) Keep your mobile connected to your PC and Enable USB Debugging (Go to Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging.)
4) Now boot into recovery mode. For this press Volume Up Button, Home Button and Power Button all at once (simultaneously).
5) Toggle the options by the volume up and down button and select by the Home button.
6) Now select 'apply update from sd card'.
7) Select the 'update.zip' file and wait for the installation to complete.

Flashing Stock ROM

Stock ROM is the normal ROM (Original Samsung). Most people want to get back to their previous ROM, so I have posted this. Flashing Stock ROM also helps to encounter the problem in which while booting the logo of Samsung gets stuck. For this you need S5360 Odin which you can get from here.

Download Odin with the extra files* of Odin.
Then turn off all Antivrus/Windows Protection and Kies for no interruption between the process.
Enable USB Debugging on device.
Switch off the phone and boot into downloading mode.
For booting it into downloading mode press volume down(-) and home button and lock-screen/power button altogether.
Press volume up to continue the process.
Connect the phone to the PC via USB cable. (Keep Odin opened from the starting only).
In Odin you can see the yellow light in the ID:COM box.
Select the extra files of Odin in their particular places.
As follows:
PIT: totoro_xxxx.pit
BOOTLOADER: BOOT_xxxxxxx.tar
PDA: PDA_xxxxx.tar
PHONE: MODEM_xxxxxxx.tar
CSC: GT-S5360_xxxxxxx.xxx

Tick the boxes Re-Partition, Auto-reboot and F. Reset Time.
Then click Start.
After that you will see a blue light above Downloading Mode Text.
No need to do anything it will automatically reboot and don't do anything in this process.
In Odin if it comes above the yellow light green light with PASS written on it, then you were successful.
It will hardly take two or three minutes once it reboots to set the default wallpaper and formatting all data on your phone.
Yes its all done.

Thanks for reading this blog.
If useful post this on other sites and do tell your companions.
Thnx.
*Extra files of Odin you can download from google.

Chainfire 3D Pro

Another poor feature of Samsung Galaxy Y is that it can't run HD Games, so I found a way to run it.
Its easy as compared to rooting. You must have your device rooted.

Chainfire 3D is the program which reduces the texture quality/size and runs it on your device.
So firstly download Chainfire 3D Pro + Plugins from here.
Extract these files.( Remember the plugins in the zip file should be extracted once only in such a way that it is again in the zip file) and transfer the .apk and .zips to the device.
Now install the Chainfire 3D and open/run it.
Then select CF3D driver. Install CF3D driver.
After that select Install Plugins/Shaders.
The three zips of plugins will be found.
Select them to install.
Open either Default OpenGL Settings or Per-app OpenGL settings.
Now it depends on the game, if its not fitting on your screen select 'reduce texture size' and load the plugin 'NVIDIA' and if its not opening only select 'reduce texture quality' and load the plugin 'QUALCOMM'.
You may refer to the youtube videos for particular games selection.
Default Open-GL Settings will be set for all applications and reduce the quality of images in gallery too.
That's why select Per-app Open-GL settings preferably.

Thanks for reading.

Samsung Drivers

On connecting you may get the notifications of drivers like Blue Thunder bird bla bla...
Want to remove this.
Just Download the drivers from here.
Run the setup and then you can even update your mobile using Samsung Kies.
